Our History

While attending college at night, Jose E. Alfaro and Carlos E. Alfaro worked at law firms and sole-practitioners gaining valuable experience in contracts, civil litigation, bankruptcy, and Workers' Compensation proceedings.

Seeing first-hand examples of how events can impact the lives of individuals, families, and businesses when they lack adequate financial protection and planning, Jose and Carlos decided to focus their careers in asset protection through insurance and risk management planning.

In 1997, the brothers established Alfaro & Alfaro Insurance Services, now Insurenex-VN Insurance Services, Inc. as an independent insurance brokerage firm. The vision was to make a difference in the lives of people through awareness, education, and responsibility.

Today, Insurenex manages a growing portfolio of clients that include business owners, professionals, executives and families. Insurenex also enjoys the trust and respect of a select group of nationally trusted insurance companies allowing us to offer a wide range of insurance products and specialty services at a competitive value.

Our Origins
Jose E. Alfaro and Carlos E. Alfaro are both natives of a small pueblo in the outskirts of Usulutan, El Salvador. The brothers arrived in Los Angeles in 1982 at the age of 12 and 10 leaving their homeland in fear of the danger and uncertainties of the ongoing war.  

Raised by a single mother who put them through school while she worked as a housekeeper, the brothers graduated from High School.  Both Jose and Carlos sought to work to help the three member family get ahead.  Initially working in physically demanding low paying jobs, Jose and Carlos decided that if anything was to change, they needed to continue with their education.  

Both Jose and Carlos quickly learned the value of education, and as advocates of the same, education has been and will continue to be a driving force at INSURENEX. All agents-advisors at INSURENEX undergo a licensing and certification program. They must stay up to date on the latest products and benefit trends through seminars, training accreditation, and certification.  

To further the education initiatives, Jose and Carlos created the INSURENEX Academy, a monthly in-house conference dedicated to the education, improvement, and advancement of our team member’s careers. One of the biggest assets at INSURENEX are the individuals that make up our team of professionals. Investing in our team members and expanding their knowledge of what we do ensures we give our best in being of service to each of our valued clients. As a result, 70% of our new clients are referred by existing clients.
